Printing tips for a perfect project
Need help with the ins and outs of your printing project? We have a list of helpful tips to make sure your next printing project goes off without a hitch. And, of course, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us!
- Provide all images as CYMK rather than RGB.
- Photo resolution for all images should be a minimum of 300 dpi when placed at 100% in your layout.
- Build multiple page documents in single pages instead of building them as spreads. Saddle-stitched books can be in facing single pages, but perfect bound books should be laid out in single pages only.
- Design all layout pages to the final trim size.
- Provide a minimum of 1/8“ bleed on all sides unless you’re working with saddle-stitched booklets. Make sure you keep the bleed to the fold.
- For optimum results, create vignettes in Photoshop to prevent banding.
- Zip/compress your files prior to uploading to our FTP site.
- Be certain to include all native/linked files as well as all fonts (compressed).
- If you use ICC profiles, please contact our pre-press department or notate that when you submit files.
